AMAZING vintage Gilbert Rohde for Herman Miller Art Deco electric desk or table clock!
This midcentury, funky yet classic design is likely an early model or prototype, because I’ve not found another like it anywhere!
It’s made of a combination of lighter and darker woods, possibly maple burl and macassar ebony veneer. It has a silver-plated dial with lithographed numbers and a brushed brass bezel. It has a has a red "tear-drop" hour hand and a red minute hand, and stands on 5 small, brass ball feet.
As far as I know it doesn’t work when plugged in, but I haven’t played around with testing it much. Working or not, it’s beautiful for display and for collectors!
There are slight imperfections, scratches and some chipping… please see pics. Overall, it’s great for its age. Measures 5” x 5” x 2”
