Teacher Designed Periodic Table Puzzle-Critical thinking = 5 table periods

This is a Periodic Table Puzzle that requires critical thinking skills to solve. Students have three clues per puzzle piece: Element Symbol, Element mass number, and family symbol. The goal is to accurately construct the first 5 periods of the periodic table. Students usually solve this puzzle in groups -- often competing with other groups to be the first to solve the puzzle without the aid of the actual periodic table. It was often used as an extra credit activity.The puzzle is made of 1/4 inch press board which has proven to be nearly indestructable. Each element square is painted with a white background with hand-printed element symbol, mass number, and family symbol. Each element square has been finished with a layer of polyurethane for extra durability.
