Manufactured around 1967, this is the "portable" version of the A-4010, in that it includes a built-in amplifier and stereo speakers. (It is portable only in the sense that it has a cover and a handle, but be forewarned you don't want to carry it around too much -- it weighs 52 pounds!)
Three motors (left and right reels, and capstan). Speeds 7.5 and 3.75 ips.
Four heads for 4-track (2 channel) bi-directional recording and playback (i.e. record or playback in either direction). Record or play in either single track or stereo. Automatic reversing when sensing foil is used, automatic stop at tape end.
Solid state, 20-watt amplifier.
Has dual treble/bass and volume controls and dual VU meters. Has mic inputs, line-in, line-out, jacks for additional speakers, DIN in/out and 9-prong jack for a remote (not included).
