Equipped with the adaptable MG34, Waffen-SS HMG platoons could unleash a barrage of fire to either hinder enemy assaults or keep them at bay defensively. Capable of rapid fire, up to 800 rounds per minute, the MG34 offered semi-automatic fire via the trigger's upper segment and full automatic via the lower. Its quick barrel change feature addressed overheating. Ammunition could be fed from 50 or 75 round drums, or via belt, and the MG34 served as both a light machine gun on a bipod or heavy machine gun on a tripod, with the latter including sighting equipment for indirect fire.
