Mantis, acting as a guide, confesses her role in directing the Silver Surfer to investigate the Elder's plans from the outset while aiding his recovery. Concurrently, the Kree's Supreme Intelligence discovers the Skrulls' loss of shape-shifting abilities, coinciding with a Celestial visitation. Following Mantis, they inadvertently overhear the Elder's sinister plot to eliminate Galactus before Ego's detection triggers a confrontation from which the Surfer and Mantis narrowly escape.
