First edition, first printing hardcover copy of Shardik by Richard Adams (Simon & Schuster, 1974). The beloved novel by the author of Watership Down. Jacket is protected in archival sleeve but with moderate rubbing to faces and shelf wear around the edges - including some chipping, creases and small tears, many of which are taped together on the interior. Boards are straight and clean but with corners bumped. Binding is firm though spine leans slightly. “Black” written on top edge of front endpaper and some soiling to outer edge of text block, otherwise all pages are clean and unmarked though tanned.
