Jim Hammond, an avid outdoorsman and custom knifemaker, designed the A.B.C. (All Bases Covered) knife/sheath system after his friends requested a better multipurpose fixed blade. CRKT's production versions faithfully replicate Jim's designs, making them affordable for those who rely on a knife for work, survival, or rescue. The dual-grind Tanto A.B.C. Operator's Model is a versatile general-purpose fixed blade, ideal for special forces operators, hikers, climbers, pilots, parachutists, and military personnel. Its bottom edge is razor-sharp and suited for fine cutting tasks, while the top edge combines razor-sharp and serrated edges for rapid rough cutting. The blade is a full-tang, skeletonized design made of premium AUS 8 stainless steel, mirror-polished and black titanium nitride coated for maximum corrosion resistance. The finger choils have heavy friction grooves for a sure grip, and the black injection-molded Zytel scales have an aggressive texture, held in place by corrosion-resistant stainless steel Torx fasteners. The Zytel sheath allows eight carry modes and countless variations, with black finish brass Chicago screws for adjustment and multiple attachment orientations. Strong, simple, versatile, and extremely corrosion-resistant, this knife covers all bases.
