JACO polypropylene fittings are designed to deliver reliable, long-term performance in plumbing and fluid-handling applications where chemical resistance and structural integrity are essential. These fittings are unaffected by most weak acids and alkalies and, at temperatures below 175°F, provide good resistance to organic solvents; however, they are not recommended for use with oxidants, strong acids, or in applications involving continuous exposure to direct sunlight. The polypropylene used in JACO fittings is 20% glass filled, offering improved stiffness, dimensional stability, and overall durability while retaining the benefits of lightweight plastic construction. Compared to traditional metal compression fittings, JACO polypropylene fittings provide excellent electrical insulating properties, helping reduce electrolytic corrosion that can occur when dissimilar metals contact tubing. Their low density and inherent softness allow them to absorb mechanical and acoustical vibrations, resulting in quieter operation and reduced system stress. A smooth internal surface minimizes flow resistance and helps prevent scale buildup, ensuring efficient fluid movement and consistent performance over time. Specifications include 1/2" OD tube x 1/2" OD tube connections, polypropylene construction, a ferrule nut with a plastic gripper designed for use with plastic tubing, a 3/4-20 ferrule nut thread size, a maximum pressure rating of 220 psi, an operating temperature range of -30°F to 215°F, and an opaque white finish for easy identification.
