This is a fashion statement from the 1930s' when tilt hats were the rage. This small chocolate brown hat is made of felt which is created into a round shape. The back has a felt covered O ring to hold the hat in a tilted position. At each side, the hat is trimmed with beautiful felt "flowers".Therte is a veil attached, which can be worn over the face, placed over the hat, or removed.Tilt hats were popular in the 1930s and 1940s. They were worn at an angle and held to the back of the head by a strap, rigid ring, elastic band beneath the hair, or a combination of these. There is no label, indicating it was a custom-made creation.This is an authentic piece of fashion history! This hat is in wonderful vintage condition & has been lovingly preserved among over 1300 vintage hats we have collected for 40+ years. Feathers, straw, flowers & veils are fragile, given their age.
