Vintage Chinese chess set in wood case and hand carved clay pieces.
The case has a red veneer with the dragon and phoenix in gold, and the characters represent longevity, fortune and prosperity.
The other side of the case has a print drawing of women playing chess in their traditional gowns.
The chess pieces are hand carved in clay and kiln dried.
The King measures 2" tall.
The board with 1-3/8" squares and an overall playing board of 13"x14"
The wood case has a brass hook and eye brass clasp with ornate brass corner plates (nailed in). It measures 7"x13"x3-7/8" closed
Good condition. The chess pieces are in excellent condition. The play surface shows slight vintage wear as does the box
