This its a stunning showstopper hat from the 1930's. The hat is made of black felt and consists of a round/platter style with a turned down edge. The hat sits on the head in a tilted position. There is a grosgrain band attached so as to keep the hat in a tilted position. At the top there are bows made of thin strips of felt. There are 2magnificent teal colored long, curled feathers. A very high fashion look at the time, and even now.Tilt hats were popular in the 1930s and 1940s. They were worn at an angle and held to the back of the head by a strap, rigid ring, elastic band beneath the hair, or a combination of these. No label, meaning it was custom made. There is a small label stating: "Adjustable"This is an authentic piece of fashion history! This hat is in wonderful vintage condition & has been lovingly preserved among over 1300 vintage hats we have collected for 40+ years. Feathers, straw, flowers & veils are fragile, given their age.
