Product Description: Dan's TRI-10 is the largest of the TRI-HONE Sharpening Systems available for purchase. It features one Silicon Carbide Synthetic (Coarse) Stone (150 grit), one Natural Soft (Medium) Arkansas Novaculite Stone (approx. 600-800 grit), and one Natural Hard (Fine) Arkansas Novaculite Stone (approx. 800-1000 Grit) mounted on a wood triangle that rotates in a wood base holder. The end of the wood triangle is labeled for easy stone identification and rotating your stone is no problem in the wood base provided. Also included is Dan's Honing Oil. All Natural Arkansas Stones work best with a lightweight mineral oil because it suspends the metal particles produced by sharpening. Stone Size and Use: 10” x 1 5/8” x 1/2” Synthetic (Coarse) Stone (150 grit) man-made stone that is much coarser than any of the Natural Arkansas Stones. Use this stone on very dull or damaged edges 10” x 1 5/8” x 1/2” Natural Soft (Medium) Arkansas Novaculite Stone (approx. 600-800 grit) the coarsest, most versatile and most popular of the Natural Arkansas Stones. Soft Arkansas stones are used to quickly put an initial edge on dull or neglected knives or other cutting tools. This is a natural stone and color can vary from white to gray/black to pink/gray, or a combination of these colors in a single stone. 10” x 1 5/8” x 1/2” Natural Hard (Fine) Arkansas Novaculite Stone (approx. 800-1000 Grit) used to establish and maintain a keen edge on cutting tools. This natural stone color can include Grey, White, Black/Grey, Grey/Pink, Black/ White, White or White/ Pink, or a combination of these colors. Genuine Arkansas Novaculite Stones are 100% quarried in the Ouachita Mountains of Central Arkansas.
