This is Thundercats #1, CGC graded 9.4, from 1985 — the very first issue where Lion-O learned leadership, muscles were mandatory, and pants were optional.
Now the backstory.
My mom bought this comic in 1985 while grocery shopping. She did not know who the Thundercats were. She thought “Collector’s Item!” sounded responsible, like buying bonds or extra paper towels. She paid 65 cents, put it in a drawer, and promptly forgot about it for four decades.
Fast forward to a recent visit where she hands me a random stack of “old papers” and says, “I think this is one of your cartoons.”
It was not one of my cartoons.
It was this.
Professionally slabbed by CGC, Universal Grade 9.4, crisp colors, sharp corners, and still looking like it just sprinted off Third Earth. Off-white to white pages. Clean.
