Cajun Shrimp and Grits, a hearty dish for 8-10, combines old-fashioned grits, chicken stock, water, spicy andouille sausage, shrimp, and cheese. Cooks in 90 minutes, with a tip for stone ground grits.
- Coat Shrimp in Cajun Seasoning: Combine shrimp with cajun seasoning in a small bowl until shrimp are evenly coated
- Steam Seasoned Shrimp: Place seasoned shrimp in the steamer basket and set it in the rice cooker, then close the lid
- Set Cooking Time: Choose the HOT CEREAL or HEAT/SIMMER setting and set the timer for 90 minutes
- Prepare Grits: Once the cycle ends, remove the steamer basket and cooked shrimp. Stir in butter, cheese, and green onions into the grits, let it stand until the butter and cheese melt, then stir again
- Serve: Dish out the grits and serve them with the shrimp
