I recently saw a vintage shop post a set of mugs with a similar Iris design so when I found this trinket box, I scooped it up immediately. This lacquerware piece has a blue iris design with a gold flower-shaped handle.
After doing some research, I think this is a vintage Otagiri piece made in Japan. Otagiri often hired talented artists to design their products so all of them are handcrafted and handpainted. She’s a gem!
