In 2014, we introduced a unique item at GenCon, a product our customers had long requested: Bone Dice. Traditionally, bone is unsuitable for dice due to its porous nature, odd shape, tendency to chip, and hollow, spongy center. However, we've overcome these challenges by stabilizing the bone and encasing it in a urethane resin block. The colored holes you see are resin filling the teeth holes in the alligator jawbone, while the white parts are the actual gator jawbone. These dice are crafted from real alligator jawbones sourced from farm-raised gators in Louisiana, with each 8-foot gator providing enough bone for our dice. Like cows, these gators are raised for meat and leather, and their tail meat is quite delicious when fried.
