“This 39 card deck features hand-drawn and hand-painted artwork inspired by the practice of human anatomical study and the cultural philosophy of medicine. Throughout the process of developing the Anatomize Oracle as a divination tool, I was interested in exploring the various theories behind the mind-body connection, so research was conducted in the following subjects:
• Medieval medicine, Humorism &
Hippocratic medicine
• Traditional Chinese & Western medicines
• Chakra system and esoteric traditions in Hinduism
• Monism vs. dualism
The drawings were inspired by Victorian anatomical study and 21st Century medical illustration, and the backgrounds inspired by research into colour psychology.“
