This plant features cylindrical gray-green to blue stems that can grow up to 10 metres (33 feet) in height and 10–20 cm in diameter. The large, cream-colored flowers bloom at night and are essential for pollinating bats. The flowers are nocturnal and only open for one night. The fruits are edible and taste mildly sweet, similar to shaved ice when chilled. The plant is very hardy, thriving in warm climates and tolerating occasional freezes. However, it is recommended to cover it during extended freezing periods. While the plant is robust, it still requires careful handling during shipping. We package it appropriately but cannot cover breaks for large cacti over 30" due to their fragility. For smaller cacti, please inform us of any shipping issues.
